I can only imagine how long it took to draw this many characters in the same scene.Eric Barclayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12640302773426121896noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8836028875865373356.post-11371223741731660732008-12-15T17:30:00.000-08:002008-12-15T17:30:00.000-08:00Wow, love the piece reminds me of when my grandpar...Wow, love the piece reminds me of when my grandparents were alive and we had family gatherings with gumbo in New Orleans..

Hum. I would say it could take any thing from 2 days to 5 (usually 2 days drawing, 2 to 3 painting, I can cut that down if needed). It usually depends on details involved.. but I usually loose track since I have to do several at once. Im trying to get my speed up.

Love the christmas music.jmeyersketcheshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00770776632840073857noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8836028875865373356.post-50686139183420190422008-12-11T05:27:00.000-08:002008-12-11T05:27:00.000-08:00Great piece Kelly! Even longer if I didn't have my back against the wall with a deadline. Usually the deadline forces my hand (literally) in how complicated I make the initial sketches - I can't submit a sketch that I can't paint in the time given. Some jobs have mandated a page (or two - a spread) a day to stay on track.Gina Perryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07470793439269219158noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8836028875865373356.post-29441525378540794202008-12-10T00:17:00.000-08:002008-12-10T00:17:00.000-08:00Wow this is great! They characters are so real and unique. They seem softer than your usual style and I like it a lot!
The colors are perfect. A smart way to handle all those details and not have your eye wandering like crazy everywhere.

As to how long a piece takes, I say it really depends on the style. The more details there are on a piece, the more time it takes to finish it. So I'm guessing that is why it took you longer than expected. But I say it was worth it, no? :o)Alicia Padrónhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04310467713291422507noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8836028875865373356.post-59220426698092209592008-12-08T22:15:00.000-08:002008-12-08T22:15:00.000-08:00id say about an hr and a half a day of journal ill...id say about an hr and a half a day of journal illustration.quesadillahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09414426244444757450noreply@blogger.com
