Time

So - drawing for fun - IF "Time " - The turn of the 19th - 20th Century. A time of great clothes. Also a time of transition for women. From coquette to suffragette - to vamp. There was still along way to go - but they did it with style.

These are all based on sketches from an old sketchbook. I had gone to the nassau county museum of art for a vintage clothing exhibit. Some are inspired by paintings- others were mannequins with the actual vintage garments on. This stuff thrills me. I was born way too late.

These are wonderful, Kelly.

I read your other post and am sorry to hear about your terrible experience. Often being called "too Disney" myself, I can relate. But if you want my opinion, don't ever change your style, JUST to please others. You are EXTREMELY talented as is! I think your art is fantastic, and what that guy at the conference did not choose to mention is what seriously talented artists animators are!

We may not get certain projects because we're "too Disney" but we also DO get projects for that very same reason. And IMO those are the best kinds of projects to get - doing what we love and are best at. =)

I look forward to seeing more of your fabulous work, so keep it coming!

I love the 1912-Art Nouveau- gal! The first few remind me of swans with their graceful necks. :) Definitely fun...the possibilities of their clothing and patterns boggle my mind!
