Embracing the mess of my sketches

I finished up the little sample book. 6" by 9". I did this so fast- I kept my sketches in- cleaning up only the lines that created tangents and cut thru features.  So busy with Ripple- I couldn't give it a full color teatment- so I thought about books I had as a kid- I would get them from Scholastic Book clubs.. little white softcover books- with spot colors. Colors that were not neatly applied within the lines. I dumped "Mr. Sprinkles" (Ice cream sprinkles) on the scanner to get the colors. Does it work for me? - Kinda- maybe -hope so...'cause it's done. I have to find a quick turn around printer tomorrow. And do a postcard... fast.

These are so very cute! The colors are perfection and I am reminded of the show Cupcake Wars (which I love).

I love how there's just enough background detail to get the setting across. The characters are awesome, too!
