Goin back to Cali - SCBWI Style

Ripple has raised $6000 as of today!!! - Amazing. I have- not drawn in a month... kinda a biproduct of do-gooding. So This weekend I worked on something new for the L.A. conference- a mini- book. I'm basing it on the sketch I did about my cousin and I'm calling it- "HEY! CUPCAKE!" - I hope it will be a little somethin' somethin' printed and a hand-out. Here's some of what's done.

Way too cute! I love the stretching at the bar. :) Wonderful line and dynamic movement here, Kelly. Great job!

This is AWESOME Kelly - what a great booklet handout this will be! I can't believe you haven't drawn for 1month. You certainly can't tell from this sequence. What's your secret for keeping the rust away?

Thanks guys! Sometimes- the need to draw- the missing of it makes the experience and the product that more enjoyable. I had time to work out this wordless story before I drew it too. I have more panels to draw and color- want it at a printer this Friday. Along w/ new postcard and ripple business cards.

I love your drawing style, and am particularly jealous of the proportions you seem to get perfect! I like the girl taking out the football player, great expression.

Each of these little gems brought a smile to my face! And that means at least 600 little paintings sold! Awesome work Kelly!

Hey Cupcake! ... I mean Kelly! Wow $6,000! That is so wonderful. I think that's more like a splash than a ripple! :o) These sketches are delightful! Great action and fun! I can't wait to see the final versions! You've been so busy, I'm glad you're getting time for yourself.

You're doing the SCBWI Conf in LA? You're going to be a rock superstar out there, especially with all that do-gooding of yours! You're a regular household name - well at least in my household. :) Not to mention that these drawings are excellente!! They'll make awesome handouts! My favorite is the ballet one! Her expression is great!

Your illustrations are wonderful! I bet you are swamped with the Ripple endeavor... Such a great thing you are doing. Kelly, I am wondering if my e-mails have reached you. I've sent you a little sketch card I did and want to donate and also the receipt for a donation to one of the charities. Could you let me know if you got them? My e-mail address is powers-studio.silke@comcast.net. Thank!!

Sike- I will double check! Verizon was buggy last week- they could have gotten bounced or lost- you can resend too. Thanks for the kind words about my illustration!! I appreciate it and all of the concerned artists around.
