Done and I don't know how I feel about it.

I think there's something about the color and framing elements that's keeping this from being as fabulous as it could/should be. That purple ground is very dominant and odd, making it hard for the girls to stand out. I'm a little unclear about the ethnicity of the main girl based on the conflict of hair and skintone - compared to the dancers who are spot on! The flowers on the board maybe add too much detail (distracting). Also I love the bottom woven element, I wonder if it would be too plain to repeat it at the top instead of the stripes (which feel busy/distracting)? I love the background gradient but what about this scene as a sunset? If it were me, I'd play with the color a TON and see what harmonizes while also letting the characters sing out more. Even the lei on the main girl blends in with the bathing suit. PLEASE edit/delete this post if it's too darn editorial for your taste! My old art director switch flipped and I just had to babble!!!

Gina, Actually, that was pretty helpful, Thanks. My husband also questioned the purple. He wanted to see water. I'm going to an accompanying action surfing spot, so I didn't want water here. I wanted the girl to be of mixed race... I'm on a mixed race thing... i don't know why. I didn't make my Take Flight girl look so japanese cause I imagined her half Irish. I thought this girl could be half hawaii half African American. Why?-I do not know??? So, I will play with the colors a bit and loose the stripes. See what happens, Thanks again- Kelly
