Casting Call !

Designing characters for a mini-book I'm doing for Promo out in L.A.

Main character is a 2nd grade Art Enthusiast. She can rattle off names like Caravaggio and Modigliani  faster than most boys can say "Pickachu".

The first 3 characters up for consideration:

Georgia: I'm sorry. You're just not cool enough. You're trying too hard. You will be considered for a classmate, sans beret.

Louise: I like you. You have the Etsy Girl/ nerdy thing going for you. Just, maybe, not enough ego.

Andie: So far, You are the front runner. You've got the look and the swagger. Also, Andy Warhol thinks you should have your 15 minutes.

Next Group!

I invite Voting in the comments!! It's like a reality TV Competition!

Hi Kelly! I like Louise...Andie is cool but she looks a little too much like she knows it all, and less relatable. Can't wait to see how your project turns out!

I do like Georgia, bit Andie is cool too. Can we have more bracelets, necklaces, maybe a bow (in the hair), fun colorful socks, bandana or smth a little extra, pop of color?
I like Andie's attitude.

My vote is for Louise - but she doesn't look like a 'Louise' .... hmmm

She has a nice noggin - she's very appealing! And I can imagine her going thru a range of emotions (the others - not so much).

Does she cut her own bangs?

Haha love this!!

Georgia makes me laugh.
Louise could be my new best friend.
And Andie means business.

I actually think these are 3 of your alter egos Kell ;o)
Hard to choose one.

I think it's a toss up between Louise and Andie, I'm leaning towards Andie because she has attitude.

I agree that Louise is the most approachable. I would choose her, then add Katia's suggestion about the pop of color with a red beaded necklace or socks or something. The other two make excellent supporting characters. Great work as always!

I agree with the others. I'm more naturally drawn to Louise. She looks like she has more vulnerability, so that makes her more relatable. Andie looks like a cool girl who knows it all and is REALLY okay with that. She actually looks like she might be the antagonist, rather than the protagonist, you know? And Georgia? Well, definite flighty best friend material. :D

Louise DOES cut her own bangs! - That's what I was going for.

The character I'm shooting for is a bit of a know it all. Think a 6 year old Edna Mode meets Dieter from Shprockets.

I'm gonna do three more now.

They are named after artists. Was that obvious and I'm unnecessarily pointing that out?

I think if you are going for a know it all Andie is the best choice. She looks just like that. She also looks very sassy to me.

Hi Kelly :)

I always enjoy your blog posts!
Based on the description, I feel like Louise fits in more than the other two.
Overall they are all so great it's hard to choose!

Cheers,
Junko

Louise is the winner of this round for me. Maybe because I cut my own bangs too :)

Bug I like Georgia...she reminds me of me in art class. Though it's true, I was never ever a cool kid. Andie is a touch too smug and I'd love to have Louise as a friend. Can't wait for round two :D

Andie seems to fit the "She can rattle off names like Caravaggio and Modigliani faster than most boys can say "Pickachu" M.O. better than Georgia and Louise, although Louise would be the 2nd runner up if she actually rattled them with a lisp.
