IF "Skinny"

Illustration Friday- "Skinny"

I did not do a sketch first- and that explains how messy this is- but it was fast and fun to doodle- w/ no lines. So unlike me. LIKE ME- on the other hand - is the image.

When you don't look like what is expected- BE unexpected.

I danced for 8 yrs. as a girl. I had girls tease me cause I was never SKINNY. - I just danced to my own tune- and moved on.

I like this and it is a great way to handle the theme this week- heres to those who make the world more interesting because we do march to a different drummer.

Kelly, I'm pleased to see at my ballet studio that the kids are all shapes and sizes. The best high school girl in the ballet classes a few years ago was about three times as large as the rest of the girls, and she could dance circles around them. After graduating from college, she returned to the area and is now teaching jazz and ballet at the studio. One of the other really good dancers who graduated a couple of years ago was over 6 feet tall and not skinny. Very cool that not every studio is about the skinny girls.

Love your drawing!

Ohhhh!! This is soo perfect Kelly! It's beautiful and organic and says so much. I think this is one of my favorite illustration of yours!

The talent is always evident on all of your work but this one has a heart behind it, you know what I mean? Make this baby a postcard and send it out there! ASAP!
